learning goal: on which of the five criteria in the Content Writing Rubric do I need to work most, as I revise my current draft based on classmates’ feedback?
THE SPIRIT OF THIS COLLABORATIVE WORK: encourage your fellow writers by offering honest, specific feedback on the questions they bring to the team.
Group C (those who have COMPLETED a full draft of the essay)
With two or three others in this Group C, take turns plugging your laptop into one of the three Collaboration Stations. Each writer brings a content writing rubric (see back of this sheet) with a check mark in each of the five rows showing the writer’s self-assessment. The writer explains on which criterion he wants the team to focus. The writer then reads aloud one of the essay’s body paragraphs, in order to seek focused help from the team.
Once all writers have presented, they should make sure to add team members’ names to their own acknowledgment footer.
With any time left, writers start revising their own essay, based on their team members’ feedback and any other needs they themselves discover. Deadline for submitting the revised draft to TURNITIN for a minor grade: Sunday October 29, 8am EST.
Group SW (those still working towards a full draft)
Find a free table, and continue composing. Unless you and I have made other arrangements, plan on submitting a first full draft to TURNITIN by the end of today’s class.
