winter-branches-and-moonintro to Renga (hand-out and board notes)

composing time for groups

time to see posted renga

opening  four verses from Mr. Brown’s renga:

where are the leaves now

  grey clouds sliding by behind

      brittle branches sway

the dance is heard in crackles

wisps of twigs brush the heart clean

through dark window panes

white circle in the west shines

      signaling the sun

flags of daffodils emerge

as small bits of green from brown
