HOMEWORK due before start of block class: blog post of 200-400 words

Think of your main idea from last week’s paragraph about Macbeth’s primary motivation in his “from this moment on” speech (4.1.145-7).

In light of this idea, how do you interpret his words spoken just after he learns of his wife’s death, “She should have died hereafter” (5.5.16 ff.)?

Other ways to pose the question above: What do you see about his thoughts and feelings?  What do they mean to you, as you consider his path to this point in his life?  What is he telling himself, and what is he telling us?
